Richard Wolf has been the leader in percutaneous Endoscopic discectomies over the past 20+ years. Herniated discs can be accessed transforamenally or interlaminarly depending on the patient's anatomy in regards to the location of a herniation. Depending on the pathology a 7mm or 8mm outer diameter system can be used with a variety of specialized instruments leaving an extremely small incision and minimal damage to the surrounding muscle tissue. There is also no need for bone resection as in a mini-open or open discectomy.
